We had the most incredible stay in the Small House. The interior was fantastic - beautifully furnished with all the appliances/utensils you might need. The service from booking right through to the actual stay was excellent. When we had an issue with a blind, it was sorted out within an couple of hours. The views were incredible. The location was really quiet, but really close to Windermere and other local walking spots. I didn’t want to leave, and I will be back.

We loved the small house! Firstly the Heaning estate is conveniently located just outside of Windermere amongst some other properties which had a village like feel. The views are just beautiful. The property itself was incredibly stylish, spotlessly clean & superbly appointed. Everything was of top quality! Michelle and her team were on hand to answer any query promptly & professionally yet in a friendly manner! I will definitely be back to the Small House & Lakeland Retreats in the future. We couldn’t have wished for a better stay!

This house was simply amazing. Everything about it is just great. The house is even better than the pictures. The surroundings are stunning and we all had a great time.

One of the best stays we’ve ever had! The accommodation was tastefully decorated throughout, with a lovely open plan living area & beautiful spacious bedrooms. The location was absolutely idyllic, with the most stunning views. Communication with the host was superb & the check in was a smooth process. Absolutely fantastic place! Located in a beautiful setting with a short drive to Windemere/ Bowness. The cottage was immaculate with everything you could ask for and the bed was extremely comfy. This is my third time booking with Lakeland Retreats and they are an excellent company. 100% recommend! Looking forward to booking again in the future. :)

We had a super stay in The Pod. The accommodation is excellent and very comfortable with everything you need, including lovely toiletries. The location is very convenient for Windermere and Kendal. The Heaning Estate is beautiful and very well kept with super views. Excellent communication from the team. We will definitely be returning. Thank you.

Had an amazing 5 days in the lakes made even better by the amazing accommodation. Lovely clean and cozy cottage away from any noise, everything you could ask for and more. The team were quick to respond to any queries and (although not needed during our stay) made us feel like we could contact with any issues we may encounter. Would 100% recommend to anyone!

Superb location. You could walk into Windermere easily and also find some good walks straight from the door. Fabulous views. The decor and facilities are excellent and tastefully done. Beds extremely comfy. Loved the toiletries so much we went & found Pure Lakes in Staveley to buy some. Good response from maintenance team to fix minor problem. Parking plentiful plus electric car charging point was areal bonus. 100% recommend The Small House.

We made our booking through Lakeland retreats which was so easy. Nearer to the time the correspondence was fantastic. I had lost my original email and started panicking and the staff sent it all straight. They also sent through fantastic directions and lots of things to do whilst we were there. The property was off the scale, we were blown away by how amazing it was and even had a bottle of Prosecco waiting when we arrived. The attention to detail in the property was incredible, the bedrooms were massive the beds were so comfy I would have taken them home.

Exceeded expectations! Lovely property in a beautiful setting. It was a perfect retreat. The property was really well equipped which was super helpful. The location was ideal for and it was so peaceful. The dressing gowns, slippers and Prosecco was a really lovely extra. The instructions and property information was very well done. Overall a great stay and would visit again.

The Hub at Heaning Estate in Windermere is an exceptional venue that effortlessly merges business functionality with a luxurious for private dining. I recently had the pleasure of experiencing this hidden gem, and it exceeded my expectations on every level.

From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the stunning surroundings. The estate itself is a testament to elegance and sophistication, set amidst the picturesque beauty of Windermere. The Hub, situated within the estate, provides an atmosphere that is both serene and invigorating.

It’s such a dream of a place. It was a perfect stay, we all loved it so much and can’t wait to return.

We have just got back from a lovely 3 night stay at The Nook. We have had such a lovely experience from start to finish. The cottage was absolutely beautiful and had everything that we needed and more. The bedroom was my favourite part of the cottage as the bed was so comfortable, we both have never had such a good sleep! Windermere and Bowness were both less than an hour walk away from the cottage and the cottage is situated in a location which is easily accessible to other towns by car such as Ambleside and Kendal.

We were lucky to hold our annual directors’ planning days at the Heaning Estate and what an incredible venue and experience.

Staying in the Big House for two days with all of our team, the décor and touches were better than any 5 star hotel we have experienced with these days before. It was great for all Directors to have their own space to relax outside of the workshops and to experience the grounds surrounding the area. The House is in beautiful surroundings with views overlooking the gorgeous landscape. The bedding and soft furnishings are to the highest standard - more than you would expect from a house rental – we especially liked the Heaning bodywash and body lotion!

Amazing house! Had the best time. The host was attentive and helpful. The rooms and their en-suite were beautiful.
